I went back to Castle Hill, in the rain, to find those stables and a little bit of information. Well, the stables and the palace are now all shops and whatnots. The outside still looks lovely, but I've no idea if it's a replica, partial replica, or what.
That tower by the false ruins, with the little wood roof over the base? That is the Tower of Ultimate/Final Defense. Shame they didn't rebuild it properly.
Lastly, here is the Piast Tower as seen from town.
